His House Thrift Shop! (Closed June 2018)  His House is opening a thrift shop in conjunction with Mount Calvary. His House is a nonprofit organization that provides direct services to families in need, and acts as a catalyst for increased sharing within the community. The His House Thrift Shop will provide new volunteer opportunities and centralize your donations. We like to call it Gods Recycling Program We are located in Shorewood, on Hwy 7, next to "Tinos", near Minnetonka High School. 19245 Hwy 7 Shorewood, MN Marty Brannon 612-325-4693In the Beginning We were able to collect the donations and usually knew someone who needed that item right away. As the generosity grew...and grew...and grew...We had garages full all over the Lake Minnetonka area of wonderful items, just waiting for the perfect family that needed these items. Just as the Brannon's garage was ready to explode...Bill Model (a His House board member) told us he owned a strip mall in Chaska that had an empty store. He offered to let to let us keep our donations in there until we needed to distribute them.  The Thrift StoreAlmost the first day we started to empty all our garages and fill the empty store..people started lining up outside of the store and asking us if they could buy the items inside. It was something we had not planned on, that is for sure, but if that was what we were being asked to do, then we had to be a good steward of this wonderful gift. All clothes are $1.00, kids coats are $2.00, and adult coats are $5.00. Any volunteer working the store is empowered to not charge for any item if the person has challenges in paying. There are many free item always. We never charge for car seats, or undergarments. |
